Roberta Segata ha una duplice formazione: si è laureata in Pittura all’Accademia di Belle Arti G.B. Cignaroli di Verona e si è formata come danzatrice nel campo del teatrodanza all’Accademia di Carolyn Carlson ad Arzo in Svizzera e nel suo l'Atelier a Parigi.
Il suo lavoro artistico è nato basandosi sulla fusione di questi aspetti usando il corpo come strumento narrativo e la fotografia, insieme al video, come privilegiati mezzi d’espressione.
In ogni sua opera la Natura è sempre stata una forte protagonista ricercando con essa un dialogo, un modo per ritrovare le proprie radici, paesaggio inconscio che porta a ragionare sull’uomo. Immagini centrate sulla correlazione tra il soggetto e lo sfondo, producendo risultati inattesi e una conversazione attiva tra gli elementi. Riflessioni sul rapporto tra uomo e natura, la parte più profonda di noi, fatto di contrasti e contraddizioni, ma familiare e inscindibile.
Oggi la sua pratica artistica ha trasformato il suo focus concentrandosi sempre di più sul Territorio, il luogo d’appartenenza, sviluppando progetti che coinvolgono le Comunità montane, raccontate attraverso la natura e le persone, la loro relazione, la loro storia, tradizione e i loro mutamenti.
La Natura e l’uomo rimangono quindi sempre il fulcro della sua riflessione, ma è cambiato il modo di guardarli, la ricerca e il desiderio di svelare ciò che è celato nella consuetudine, nell’essere umano e nel suo attaccamento al proprio spazio interiore ed esteriore.
Negli ultimi anni ha collaborato con diverse gallerie, festival ed istituzioni italiane ed internazionali.
Ha esposto in numerose mostre tra cui alla Galleri Rostrum, Malmö, Svezia; Athens Video/ArtFestival, Atene, Grecia; Chapelle des Carmélites, Traverse Vidéo, Toulouse, Francia; Fotografia Europea, Reggio Emilia; Mirogallery Bologna Italia; RBcontemporary gallery Milano Italia; Galleria Civica Trento, MART; MANIFESTA7, Italia; Kinosaki International Arts Center, Giappone; Central European House of Photo, Bratislava, Slovakia; Kerry Film Festival, Irlanda; WomeninPhotography,NewYork.
Ha vinto importanti premi in Italia e all'estero tra cui, il primo premio REW[f]RomaeuropaWebfactory– Jpeggy, la menzione speciale della giuria al Women In Photography International, NewYork, il primo premio internazionale Art Prize La Colomba, Venezia.
Alcuni dei suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su importanti riviste web e cartacee tra cui Vogue, INSIDEART, Polpettas magazine, Pizza magazine quotidiano di stile e cultura italiani, Franzmagazine diventando anche immagini principali per la campagna di comunicazione e pubblicizzazione di importanti Festival come il Tanzhaus Zürich, Svizzera e il Festival Dancebase, Edimburgo UK.

Roberta Segata has a double education. She graduated in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti G.B. Cignaroli of Verona and studied as teatrodanza dancer at the Accademia of Carolyn Carlson in Arzo, Switzerland, and in her atelier in Paris.
Her artistic work was inspired by the fusion of these two realities as she uses the body as a narrative frame and photography and video as fortunate means of expression.
In all her works of art, Nature has always been an intense protagonist. She aims to seek a dialogue, a way to find her roots, an unconscious landscape that contributes to a reflection on the humankind. Pictures on the association between the subject and the background that produce unexpected results and an active conversation between the elements. Reflections on the relationship between man and nature, the deepest part of us, made of contrasts and contradictions, but familiar and inseparable.
Today her artistic practise has evolved her focus on the territory, the place of belonging, by developing projects that involve the Mountain communities illustrated through the eyes of nature, people, their relationship and their history, their tradition and their changes.
Nature and man are the cornerstones of her reflection, but she has changed the way of looking at them, the way of unveiling what is hidden behind the habit, the human being and his bond to his internal and external space.
In the latest years, she has worked with various galleries, festivals and Italian and international institutions.
