Qualcosa di inaspettato ha colpito i nostri boschi.
Uso il termine nostri perché rappresentano un patrimonio di tutti, una fetta di vita che scorre e che accompagna chiunque abiti, passi, ami la Montagna, ma anche chi, non strettamente a contatto con essa, gode comunque dei benefici di questo grande polmone d’ossigeno.
É accaduto “qualcosa di inaspettato”, ma solo nella forza e nella entità portatrice di devastazione.
Il 29 ottobre 2018 i boschi della Valle di Fiemme, come quelli delle valli e regioni limitrofe, sono mutati, atterrati da un vento che viaggiava quasi a 200 km orari, il Ciclone Vaia. Due milioni di metri cubi di alberi sono stati strappati dal terreno restituendoci un paesaggio che urla nel suo aspetto funereo. Gli alberi a terra, nella loro lenta agonia, cambiano lo scenario fornendoci la possibilità di leggere e vedere ciò che prima era nascosto dalla consuetudine.
Immersi nella dicotomia del selvatico e dell’addomesticato, è giunta l’ora di trovare strade e visioni che portino nuove istanze ragionate collettivamente da una comunità. Una riflessione sulle logiche economiche che permettono di affrontare il futuro e di quelle che hanno reso meno estesa, più contenuta la conseguenza, rispetto alle aree limitrofe, che negli anni hanno investito meno sia economicamente che filosoficamente. Il cambiamento climatico aggiunge drammaticità generando eventi chiamati “straordinari”, ma che diverranno quotidianità.
We are here è un progetto che si rivolge al Territorio e ad una profonda riflessione su di esso e vuole vertere in merito a ciò che ha generato e ciò che porterà a dover ripensare la montagna, i lavori e la vita ad essa legati.
Parlando con le persone e raccogliendo le loro testimonianze, portare un piccolo spaccato di visioni e sentire fatti di sfaccettature politiche, sociali, umane e ambientali.
Un lavoro visivo che punta sull’estetica spinta in favore della creazione di un nuovo immaginario e un nuovo punto di vista sul “Paesaggio”.
L’opera non deve essere considerata documentativa, ma un percorso che lo spettatore ha la possibilità di agire come protagonista, riflettendo in merito alla propria posizione, alla gestione della vita comunitaria che si riflette su quella globale.
Il concept e la progettazione di We are here sono il risultato di un lavoro collettivo di Roberta Segata, Virginia Sommadossi ed Elisa Di Liberato.
Il territorio delimitato e preso in considerazione è quello della Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme che dall’anno 1111 gestisce i boschi e il legname della Valle di Fiemme e alcune zone limitrofe.
Ogni zona colpita dal disastro ambientale, facente parte dell’ Ente fiemmese, è stata ripresa. Sono state fotografate alcune situazioni riguardanti ogni Comune interessato. Lo scopo di questa operazione è quello di essere testimonianza. Le immagini infatti non possono essere considerate come esplicative nella totale documentazione di ogni singola situazione, ma una piccola attestazione che può essere rappresentata anche da un solo singolo albero.
I Comuni presi in considerazione sono stati: Trodena (BZ), Castello Molina di Fiemme (TN), Cavalese- Masi di Cavalese (TN), Daiano (TN), Carano (TN), Varena (TN), Tesero (TN), Panchià (TN), Ziano (TN), Predazzo (TN), Moena (TN).

Something unexpected hit our woods.
I say our because they represent everyone’s heritage, a part of our lives that flows and accompanies who lives here, who passes through, who loves the mountain, but also who is not in close contact with it but benefits from this source of oxygen.
“Something unexpected” happened, but only in the power of the carrier of devastation.
On 29th October 2018 the woods of Val di Fiemme of the neighbouring valleys and regions, changed when a wind at a speed of almost 200 km/h – the Vaia Storm – hit them. It tore off two millions of cubic meters of trees and the landscape it left has crying and funereal aspect. The trees on the ground in the throes of death change the scenery and make us catch a different way of reading and seeing what was hidden behind the habit.
In the dichotomy of the wild and tamed, we now need to find roads and visions towards new community requests. A reflection on the economic logics that lets us face the future and on the logics that rendered the consequences less vast compared to the bordering areas that, in the latest years, have invested less both in the economical and philosophical point of view. The climate change adds some gravity and trigger the so-called “extraordinary” but almost daily events.
We are here is a project dedicated to our territory and to a deep reflection about what will brought and will bring about a new way of living the mountain and the jobs and lives connected to it.
Talking to people and listening to their thoughts, bringing them a slice of vision, and to the different political, human and environmental aspects.
A visual work focused on the aesthetics for the creation of a new image and a new point of view on “Landscape”.
This piece of art is not a documentation, but a path where the visitor can be the protagonist and meditate on his own position, on the management of the community life reflecting on the global one.
The concept and planning of We are here are the result of a collective work by Roberta Segata, Virginia Sommadossi and Elisa Di Liberato.
The delimited and contemplated territory has managed by Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme since 1111 – they control the forests and wood of Valle di Fiemme and of some neighbouring areas.
They pictured the area managed by Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme hit by the disaster. They took photographs to damaged areas part of all municipalities to give us the proofs. Pictures are not able to fully explain every situation, but they are a little testament that even one single tree can express.
